What we do

Police Scotland - Reporting and analysis of road crashes, determination of patrol strategies to assist enforcement, education and liaison with community groups to assist education.

Car Rescue West Safety Camera Unit - Encouraging changes to driver behaviour in order to reduce the number of people killed or injured on Scottish roads through the use of targeted camera enforcement.

Fire and Rescue Service - Emergency response actions, engagement and education activities to raise awareness of road safety issues throughout the community.

Dumfries and Galloway Council - Delivering the Council's road safety capital programme, maintain and manage local public roads and deliver road safety education through the schools curriculum.

Transport Scotland - Delivering a wide range of road safety education and engineering measures across the whole of the trunk road network.

Dumfries and Galloway Institute of Advanced Motorists and Motorcyclists - Improving driving standards through coaching improved driving skills and through education initiatives.

Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service - Taking action against road traffic offenders where appropriate, investigating all deaths arising from crashes, supporting Road Safety Partnership strategies and actions and assisting with education initiatives.

Scottish Ambulance Service - Working closely with the police and fire services to deal with major accidents, by responding to emergencies.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway - Assessing, planning and delivering care and treatment to the injured as a consequence of incidents on the roads.
