Road Safety Week - Introduction
Organised by Brake, the national road safety charity, the aim of Road Safety Week is to raise awareness of road safety issues.
The theme for this year's Road Safety Week is 'Road Safety Heroes', which celebrates the heroic work of road safety professionals whilst explaining how we can all play a part in making journeys safer for everyone.
From school crossing patrols, fire and rescue services, community police, ambulance and medical staff, road operatives and engineers, community campaigners, drivers and many more - they each play a pivotal role in reducing road crashes, making journeys safer for everyone, or by supporting in the aftermath of a collision.
